Dunwoody Police Step Up Speed Patrols

A speed trailer Wednesday at Dunwoody Village Parkway show that 70 percent of motorists speed in the business corridor.

Dunwoody Police are reporting that they have stepped up speed patrols in various areas of the city: Dunwoody Club Drive, Chesnut Elementary School and the Kinglsey neighborhood. The hot spots are areas that residents have complained there are frequent speeders, so police are advising people to watch their speeds all around the city. However, if recent speed trailer results are an indication, people aren't abiding by speed laws in Dunwoody's main business corridor. Police reported the results from a speed trailer that shows motorists how fast they are going and tallies their speed so police can get an idea if the aea is a problem. Dunwoody Village Parkway To Be Upgraded

The city council voted to approve the makeover during its meeting on Monday night.

The Dunwoody City Council voted this past Monday night to upgrade Dunwoody Village Parkway. According to the Reporter Newspapers, the city has received federal grant money to upgrade the road. Plans call for reducing the road from four lanes to two; removing the landscaped median; adding sidewalks, bike lanes, lighting and other pedestrian-friendly elements. Though included in the Dunwoody Village master plan, several council members objected to the project's $2.3 million pricetag. The Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce came out in full support of the plan during the council's Monday meeting.

Way to tell it ROB. This whole idea is a joke. Just a bunch of politicians spending money needlessly. @Milton - Negative ideas deserve negative comments. You don't have to comment on all good things, if there is such a thing in Dunwoody. Save the money on these worthless projects.
