The girls' track team brought home two championships from state track meet.
Dunwoody High School's girls' track and field team brought home two state championships after last weekend's state meet in Albany. The team's 4x400 meter relay team was won at the state meet. Sadia Yansaneh, Monika Nwajei, Erika Banks, Asya Yavuncu ran the relay. Alex Cameron took home the title in the 1600 meter event. The Lady Wildcats finished third as a team with 38 points at the state meet. Redan High School and Southwest DeKalb placed first and second in Class-AAAA. Complete results can be found here.

County's tournament begins Saturday
The Dunwoody High School junior varsity baseball team will attempt to defend their 2011 title this weekend at home in the county’s baseball championship tournament. The Wildcats earned the home team advantage for three weekend games by going a perfect 8-0 for the season in the county’s Red division. The round robin format puts Stephenson High School and Martin Luther King Jr. in the same pool with Dunwoody. Columbia High School and Redan High School are the other top seeds and will host the same three-team format at their schools. Dunwoody opens the tournament against Martin Luther King Jr. High school at 10 a.m. Saturday and follows that up with a game against Stephenson High School at 3 p.m. Dunwoody won the 2011 tournament title as a …

Are you a big hoops fan? Got a smartphone? Why watch the games at a local bar in Dunwoody when you could go downtown and see it live? You could be in luck. AT&T, the official wireless sponsor of the NCAA, is giving away 25 pairs of tickets to this week’s NCAA South Region basketball tournament at the Georgia Dome. Kentucky, Indiana, Baylor and Xavier will be in town vying for the opportunity to advance to the Final Four in New Orleans.
