Good Food, Good People: Dunwoody Patch Wants Your Restaurant Stories

Send us your stories about how these people make your community stronger, whether it's through their good deeds, hard work, great food, or just their friendly smile.

You know that bursting-at-the-seams rush of excitement you get when you discover a little-known eatery? The kind you can hardly contain to the point where you're texting your friends with still-greasy fingers? We recently received an e-mail in that spirit from a neighbor: An excellent hidden gem found right at our doorstep, Chateau de Saigon, just north of the intersection of Dresden on Buford Hwy (on the left). The restaurant itself is sparsely decorated and sits at the end unit of a small strip mall but the food is excellent, a combination of French and S.E. Asian cuisines. And its affordable. My friend and I ordered two appetizers, two wines and split and entree and the bill was around $40. In case you haven't noticed, we here at …

Readers have voted about their favorite place to get a late-night bite and it's Cafe Intermezzo. The restaurant, located in the Park Place Shopping Center, has a European-style coffeehouse vibe to it, soothing and relaxing on the inside and lively on its outdoor patio. The menu reflects that refined feel. The restaurant is know for its pastries - a variety of torts, tarts pies and cheescake - and its more than Continental entrees - Shrimp Bacon En Brochette, Grilled Chicken Satay and Crab Cakes in Red Pepper Sauce. The restaurant, in Dunwoody since 1979, has already been voted a local favorite. The restaurant's patio was voted the best in Dunwoody by Patch readers. Eating Out for Christmas?

While many restaurants close for Christmas Day, there are a score of places in Dunwoody that will be open and serving.

When the neighbor's hounds ate the family Christmas turkey in the holiday classic film A Christmas Story, Mr. Parker took his family out (circa 1940s Hammond, Ind. mind you) for Chinese Food and the restaurant's house specialty, Chinese Turkey (aka Peking duck). Village Burger brings the beef to local diners

Have it your way at this family-friendly burger joint

The current craving for burgers that has diners all around Atlanta feasting on lavishly-topped patties inspired several local investors to open Village Burger, a new neighborhood place where the menu is based on that classic combo of burgers and fries. A former Bruster's Ice Cream location has been revamped into a casual dining spot with 25 seats indoors and room for another 60 on two enclosed, heated porches. With a traditional, inexpensively-priced  menu, it has already turned into the neighborhood destination for hungry but budget-minded families. "There weren't too many places where people could find a reasonably priced meal and see other people in the community," said General Manager Brandon Eisenhart. "This is a good spot that …
