Bonser Denies She Leaked Information Days After Ethics Charges Against Her Were Settled

Bosner posted on her Facebook page that she didn't leak information despite her apology that said she included too much information in an e-mail to constituents.

It looked like the city’s leaders had put their battle over ethics charges behind them with the announcement of a settlement earlier this week. Apparently, that’s not the case. Councilwoman Adrian Bonser posted a lengthy message to constituents on her Facebook page where she denies leaking private information. The message seems to contradict an apology that she wrote days earlier as part of the settlement agreement that ended the ethics charges against her and closed out a counter complaint she made against Mayor Mike Davis. “I never admitted to leaking information; I only admitted to writing an e-mail in response to some questions two constituents had regarding several news articles,” she wrote on her Facebook page. “I merely gave my …

Dunwoody Cancels Ethics Hearing Because Councilwoman Wasn't Noticed

Councilwoman Adrian Bonser said didn't attend meeting she said she wasn't properly noticed about.

The city has postponed its ethics hearings because Councilwoman Adrian Bonser did not receive an official notice of the hearing and didn’t attend the meeting. Bonser’s attorney said that Bonser hadn’t received notice of the meeting from the ethics board, its attorney or the hearing officer. The meeting’s agenda indicated that a hearing would proceed ion accusations that Bonser leaked confidential information from a city executive session regarding Project Renaissance. Bonser filed a counter complaint against Mayor Mike Davis, saying that he asked her to resign. Davis attended Monday and started the proceedings. Private mediation sessions have occurred to resolve the complaints. The rescheduled meeting is 9 a.m. Dec. 12.

Ethics Board Could Hear Complaints in September

Ethics Board met Tuesday to discuss how to handle an ethics charge against Councilwoman Adrian Bonser and her counter complaint against members of the city council.

The Dunwoody ethics board plans to take up an ethics complaint against Councilwoman Adrian Bonser and her counter complaints against the rest of City Council in September. The September meeting will likely be a sort of a clearinghouse for the numerous ethics charges in Dunwoody; the board plans to hear the complaints and decide whether to dismiss them before a formal hearing process moves forward. The ethics board met Tuesday to discuss the way in which they will handle the various charges. Substantive discussions weren't had Tuesday about the merits of the complaints. This is the first time since the city's formation that the ethics board has been convened to hear ethics charges. The city commissioned an investigation into the leaking of …

Ethics Board Puts Brakes on Complaint Hearing

A number of procedural issues need to be handled before a complaint against Councilwoman Adrian Bonser or her counter-complaint against city council members could be heard.

The ethics board was scheduled Tuesday to discuss a complaint that Councilwoman Adrian Bonser leaked confidential information from city executive sessions. The board was also set to discuss a counter complaint from Bonser that the rest of the city council members called an unauthorized executive session from which she is alleged to have leaked information from.  It discussed neither. The ethics board put the brakes on handling the substantive parts of the complaints, while they began to set up the process for how they could eventually be heard. First, the board will need to adopt specific bylaws for the board to follow. The board had requested a set of rules in 2010, but the document was never finalized by then-city attorney Brian Anderson…
