Dunwoody Ethics Complaints Dismissed

Bonser issues an apology as part of the settlement agreement for disclosing priviliged information in an e-mail to a constituent.

An agreement has been reached to dismiss ethics charges that started with allegations that Councilwoman Adrian Bonser leaked priviliged information about a city property deal. The situation escalated when Bonser brought counter ethics complaints Mayor Mike Davis, who Bonser accused of harrasing her by asking her to step down from her position after the alleged ethics transgresson. The city sent out the settlement agreement Monday that insulates Bonser and Davis from further action. The agreement was signed by the City Council and Bonser for a "mutual dismissal." Ethics Board Upholds Complaints Against Bonser, Davis

A four-hour meeting of the ethics board did not dismiss a complaint that Bonser may have leaked information from city executive sessions nor a complaint against Davis that he breached city ethics by asking Bonser to resign.

Councilwoman Adrian Bonser and Mayor Mike Davis still have some ethical business to deal with. After a four-hour meeting Tuesday, the city ethics board didn't dismiss that Bonser may have leaked information from a February city executive session and that Davis breached the city's code by asking her to resign. The board did dismiss Bonser's complaint, which came about after she was named in the leak, that the city council held an unlawful executive session Feb. 3. The complaint named the entire city council besides Bonser and also former City Attorney Brian Anderson and City Manager Warren Hutmacher. None of it was done unanimously. Ethics Board to Discuss Complaint against Councilwoman

Ethics Board will also discuss counter complaint filed by Councilwoman Adrian Bonser against the council, city manager, and the former city attorney.

The city's ethics board will convene Tuesday to discuss the complaint that Councilwoman Adrian Bonser leaked information from city executive sessions. The ethics board is scheduled to first vote on whether to appoint Richard Carothers, an attorney the city's acting city attorney has recommended to be independent counsel for the ethics board. The ethics board is also scheduled to consider a complaint by Bonser against the members of the city council and City Manager Warren Hutmacher that was filed after the complaint against her.  She says in her complaint that the council met outside the state's open meeting law when they got together to sign the complaint against her.
