William Morriss, 20, was attending UGA.
A former Dunwoody High School student who was attending University of Georgia has died. Twenty-year-old William O. Morriss, a business major, passed away May 8, according to The Red & Black, which cited an obituary. A memorial for Morriss was recently held at the Dunwoody Country Club, the Red & Black reports. The article also states that the family requested donations to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, www.afsp.org, in lieu of flowers.

The longtime north DeKalb Republican passed away on Tuesday morning.
Jim Tysinger was a Republican in Georgia at a time when the GOP was an inconsequential force in Peach State politics. But that didn't affect the longtime legislator's ability to get things done for his constituents and work with a Democratic majority that had been in power since right after the Civil War. Tysinger, who passed away Tuesday morning after a bout of pneumonia, represented Brookhaven and other parts of north DeKalb from 1968-98 in the state Senate. Prior to that, he was a member of the city of North Atlanta's final city council, which went out of business in 1965. Portions of that old city are now included in the new city of Brookhaven. The former announcer for the Atlanta Braves died on Friday. Funeral services were held in Sandy Springs.
Funeral services for Ernie Johnson, Sr. were held this morning at St. Jude Catholic Church, in Sandy Springs. The former announcer for the Atlanta Braves died on Friday, at the age of 87. Johnson played for the Boston and Milwaukee Braves from 1950-1958 and the Baltimore Orioles in 1959, and was inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame in 2001. Johnson is survived by Lois, his wife of 63 years, and children Dawn, Chris, and Ernie Jr. Ernie Jr. is host of the "NBA on TNT." Family and friends at Tuesday’s services included Bobby Cox, Dale Murphy, Atlanta Braves President John Schuerholz, Steve Holman, the voice of the Atlanta Hawks, and baseball great Phil Niekro.
