Weekender: Festival, Jazz Concert, Mojito Cocktail Sales for Oklahoma Tornado Victims

Check out what's happening in Dunwoody and nearby this weekend.

 

  • Mojito Proceeds to Benefit Tornado Victims. Eclipse di Luna will donate 100 percent of Mojito cocktail sales to the Oklahoma Red Cross, all day on Friday. Alon's shopping center across from Perimeter Mall. 
  • Jazz Concert at Chastain. Rick Braun, Kirk Whalum, Norman Brown, Chrisette Michele and Bwb perform, 7 p.m. Friday at Chastain Park Amphitheatre.
  • African Experience Festival. A cultural display of African traditions and heritage with live musical performances, fashion display, African food, Arts and crafts games and kids area, and family fun. 2-7 p.m., Sunday.
  • Jubilee Family Fesitival. International music and dance representing severalcountries including Africa, India, The Caribbean, England, Scotland, Wales and other countries, along with a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, which took place June 2, 1953. 11 a.m., Saturday at Oglethorpe University.  $8.
  • Sunday Bike Ride. The 36-mile ride starts from Chick-fil-A at Mount Vernon and Abernathy Road, and follows one of two routes both of which have a lot of climbing. 8 a.m., Free.
  • Pet Adoptions. The Homeless Pets Foundation has pets available for adoption on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Sundays from noon-4:30 p.m. at Petsmart, 128 Perimeter Center West. Volunteers are always needed. Visit http://www.homelesspets.com/Volunteer.php_ for more details.
