Runners interviewed commended the excellent race route and the well-organized event in a very nice venue, Sembler’s Perimeter Place. The Family Festival drew crowds who enjoyed the donated food, tours of the fire engine, a look at Q, the fire station’s special dog, Dunwoody Police cars and the Tot Trot. Pictured is the Augello family, all of whom participated at some level. Their 48th Street Italian Market was one of the many corporate sponsors who stepped up to make the race and its dividends possible. All in all, the race had more than 600 participants, including runners and volunteers. The profit of more than $30,000 will benefit Dunwoody’s first responders and children, locally and internationally, through literacy/health programs. Specific recipients will be announced in January.

Volunteers from Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Perimeter, Georgia Perimeter College, Dunwoody High School Interact Club, Operation Boot Camp and the Roteract Club of Metro Atlanta, and 47 members of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody, the organizer of this major fundraiser for their charitable works, made the race possible.

Look for RunDunwoody on Oct. 21 next year so the Rotary Club of Dunwoody can continue its goal of “Service Above Self.”
