Dunwoody United Methodist Among 16 Churches to Dedicate Two Habitat for Humanity Homes

560 volunteer worked almost every weekend from April to June to build two homes

Volunteers from Dunwoody United Methodist Church joined 15 other churches to dedicate two new homes in Atlanta for Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, June 11.

It's the first time so many churches from a single denomination have joined together for an Atlanta Habitat build.

More than 560 volunteers worked just about every Saturday from April to June to build the homes with two new homebuyers, Ms. Sabrina Richards and Ms. Yolanda Paulhill.

The churches are all from the Atlanta-Roswell district of the United Methodist Church: Alpharetta First UMC, Birmingham UMC, Chamblee First UMC, Christ UMC, Dunwoody UMC, Hickory Flat UMC, Lanier UMC, North Springs UMC, Northbrook UMC, Roswell UMC, Sandy Springs UMC, Sardis UMC, Shiloh UMC, Simpsonwood UMC, St. James UMC and Winters Chapel UMC.

“Atlanta Habitat’s mission is not only to build new quality, affordable homes, but also to build a better community. Bringing 16 churches together to work on one house is a great way to accomplish both goals," said Larrie Del Martin, president & CEO of Atlanta Habitat for Humanity
