West Nile Reported in DeKalb County

The county is the first in metro Atlanta to catch the disease carrying insects, and forecasters say it could be a busy season.

DeKalb is the first county in metro Atlanta that has reported mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Eight different traps have captured the insects, which could indicate a pervasive season for the disease carrying insects.

So far, all the traps that have caught them are inside the Perimeter area, but officials are telling everyone to take precautions.
