World War Waffle: U.S. Business Takes on Belgium in World Cup

Georgia-based Waffle House is forsaking its namesake dish temporarily to root for Team USA as it heads into Tuesday's do-or-die match against Belgium in the FIFA World Cup.

The winner-take-all soccer war set for Tuesday between the United States and Belgium has a casualty already: Belgian waffles.

Waffle House, based in Norcross, GA, says it’s 100 percent behind the United States men's soccer team despite the company’s namesake menu item, reports USA Today

The 24-hour diner chain does not offer Belgian waffles on its menu, because that would be un-American, says the newspaper, and it's urging U.S. fans to boycott the waffles leading up to Tuesday's game.
