The girls' squad closed out the regular season on a three-game winning streak, all shutouts, to finish at 11-5 and 7-3 in Region 6-AAAA. The Lady Wildcats strong goaltending gave the opposition fits this season as they recorded nine goose eggs in 2011.
Dunwoody's boys also were strong this year, posting an 11-3 mark while going 9-2 in league play. The boys won two-of-three down the stretch, both shutouts, and hope to make a deep run when the state playoffs begin next week.
Tennis
It’s been a bit of a rough year for the Dunwoody girls’ tennis team. They are 7-11 on the season, and 4-3 in the region. They started the state tournament with a win over Miller Grove 3-0, but fell later in the day to Marist 0-3.
The boys’ team is 11-11 so far this season after beating Flowery Branch 5-0 on Tuesday night and 4-1 in the region. Coach Roger Gay’s team seems to be on a bit of an upswing heading into state tournament play, winning two out of their last three matches 5-0.
