DHS Girls Cross Country Take Regional Championship

Women bested Lakeside by the narrowest of margins in a recent meet.

The Dunwoody's girls' Cross Country team won the Region 6-AAAAA Championship recently, defeating worthy competitor Lakeside by one point, DHS organizers reported.

It was the girls' first region championship in 17 years, last winning in 1995.

Another first: it's the first time in DHS history that the team has won the region and the county.

Although one of the ultimate team sports in terms of scoring matches, special shout outs go to Alex Cameron, with a 2nd-place finish She was followed closely by Kailey Williams, Ansley Heavern, Ann-Marie Sills, Erin Berger, Jennifer Hardister, and Kenzie Johnson.

Congratulations team for an historic season!
