Water Main Break Results in Evacuation of Dunwoody Elementary School

Students are being transported to Dunwoody High School and will return to the elementary school for afternoon dismissal.

A water main break near Georgia Perimeter College has resulted in a loss of water at Dunwoody Elementary School.

A press statement said approximately 940 students at Dunwoody ES would be transported to Dunwoody High School per current evacuation protocol. 

The evacuation was to start at 9:45 a.m. Principal Jennifer Sanders and her staff have provided breakfast and water to the students. Students will be returned to Dunwoody ES for normal afternoon dismissal.

Senior administrators and Superintendent Michael Thurmond are coordinating with DeKalb County Interim CEO Lee May on plans to restore water service and maintain the safety of the affected students and employees.
