“Hosting this game is a great way to introduce the community to high-level lacrosse and a tremendous opportunity for the program to raise money in support of our inaugural season.”said Dunwoody Boys Coach Evan Goldberg in a press release about the game. Goldberg is a former Florida State lacrosse player.

In 2011, DeKalb County Schools sanctioned the sport of Lacrosse to be played as a GHSA varsity sport at any DeKalb County High School as long as the school can raise funds to field a team.

Stix Club President Bob Freeman, more than 30 Dunwoody High School Lacrosse parents and players, and School Board Member Nancy Jester were a major factor in helping DHS achieve this goal.

The Dunwoody High School Boys Lacrosse club team is coming off a 2011 championship season, winning their bracket in the North Georgia Lacrosse League (NGLL). They were NGLL Division B Tournament Champions.
