Students to get a little exercise before school

Georgia's walk and bike to school day features some friendly competition

Dunwoody’s elementary schoolers are getting ready to tie their sneakers up tight, oil the chains on their bicycles and get a little exercise Wednesday on the way to school.

The event is Georgia’s Walk (or Bike) to School Day, and it’s a friendly competition. The prize? It’s the Golden Sneaker of Dunwoody – which will be handed to the school with the highest percentage of bikers and walkers.

In the spirit of the competition, the school that has the lowest percentage of bikers and walkers will force their school principal to wear the T-shirt of the school that won.
