Rotary Donates Books to Dresden Elementary School

Tradition dates back more than a decade

For more than ten years now, the Rotary Club of Dunwoody has provided an age-appropriate hardback book to every student at Dresden Elementary School. This tradition has assured each student has his/her very own book, sometimes for the first time. The earliest recipients are now in their 20s, according to the Rotary.

On Dec. 3, twenty Rotarians and their family members gathered at the home of Dunwoody residents Roy and Franci Ethridge to prepare the books with labels and wrapping paper. The books will be delivered to Dresden on Dec. 14 in an assembly.

On Dec. 16, the Dresden choir will sing at the annual Rotary Holiday luncheon at Dunwoody Country Club. This partnership has endured as part of Rotary’s goal of improving education in the local community and around the globe.
