Peachtree Middle School Students Playing Around Road, Police Say

Dunwoody Police are asking parents of students who walk to Peachtree Middle School to talk to them about being safe around North Peachtree Road.

Dunwoody Police are warning parents of middle school students attending Peachtree Middle School about dangerous horseplay on North Peachtree Road.

According to police, Sgt. Fidel Espinoza recently saw four Peachtree students playing around the arterial road. One of the teens was seen pushing another towards North Peachtree Road as cars drove nearby, according to police.

All four students were stopped and told to quit the dangerous activity. Police are asking parents whose children walk to school about how dangerous this type play can be.

that occurred in May.

A Dunwoody resident then told police that youths were playing "chicken" with passing cars on nearby Peachford Road. The resident reported she had to slam on her brakes to avoid hitting the youths.

Then, the kids weren't positively identified as Peachtree Middle School students. An assistant principal at the school agreed to follow up with the students. Police never positively identified who the youths were who were involved in the incident, officers said this spring.

At the time, police were asking people who travel along Peachford Road before and after school times to slow down and use caution.

The Dunwoody middle school serves grades 6 through 8 with a curriculum that emphasizes academics, music and languages.
