With great spring events, get your family out and about Dunwoody this week.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK:

  • LEMONADE DAYS

When/Where: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at , 4770 N Peachtree Rd

Why go: Join us for the annual Lemonade Days in Dunwoody festival, hosted by Dunwoody Trust. Celebrating our historic and triumphant past, Lemonade Days is a family-oriented event of fairground rides, face painting, food, crafts, pony rides, demonstrations and art exhibitions. Proceeds to benefit the Dunwoody Preservation Trust. The large carnival and midway area is the centerpiece of the festival, but craft lovers and even the smallest children will find plenty to do and enjoy amidst the joyful celebrations!

How much: Unlimited ride day pass is $20. Individual ride tickets are $1, 3-5 tickets per ride.

  • BICYCLE RIDE AROUND DUNWOODY

When/Where: 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at , 4770 N Peachtree Rd

Why go: The Dunwoody Preservation Trust is proud to sponsor the third annual Bike Ride Around Dunwoody, a recreational bike ride for individual riders and families who would like to support Dunwoody becoming a more bicycle-friendly community. There will be an eight mile ride for intermediate riders (which will pass through Dunwoody Village); and a 3.5 mile ride for younger children and a 29/37 mile ride for "roadies". There will also be a DJ, food from Chick-fil-a, refreshments and prizes will be given away to riders in a drawing.

How much: Entry fee is $15 per rider. Proceeds from this low-cost event will be used to purchase & install bike racks throughout Dunwoody. Register online.

  • SPRINT FOR CANCER 5K & 10K

When/Where: 8 a.m. Saturday, , 100 Perimeter Center Pl NE (Parking Lot)

Why go: Grab your families, friends and coworkers, lace up your shoes and come join us for the 9th annual Radiant Systems Sprint for Cancer road race, benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. There will be 5K and 10K races, and a Fun Run.

How much: 5K & 10K Individual Registration (includes shirt): $20 through 3/15; $25 3/15 – race day. Fun Run Registration for kids of all ages: $15 (includes shirt and finisher’s ribbon); children must register, but parents are welcome to participate. Register for all events online.

  • NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK

When/Where:  10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday at , 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd

Why go: Join the Friends of the Dunwoody Library and Celebrate Spring for National Library Week! Plant a flower with the Dunwoody Garden Club, pet the rabbits from Kopp's Kritters, participate in storytime, build a craft, find prizes and treats on a scavenger hunt, ask the experts questions about gardening, simple home repairs, backyard bees and about your public library.

How much: Free. Funding provided by The Friends of the Dunwoody Library.

  • TOUR VANDERLYN ELEMENTARY

When/Where: Thursday at , 1877 Vanderlyn Dr.

Why go: Vanderlyn Elementary PTA and the new families committee conducts scheduled tours of the school for new and prospective families. If you miss the April date, the next tour date will be offered May 12th.
