IABC International Leader Highlights - Global Communications Trends and the Future of the Profession

How can communicators prepare for the changes the profession will experience in the future? And how can communications professionals use global trends to identify best practices? At the August meeting of IABC Atlanta, IABC/International's Immediate Past Chair Adrian Cropley (direct from Australia) will share what he's learned across the globe to answer these and other questions. The meeting featuring Cropley will be held at Villa Christina, 4000 Summit Parkway, Atlanta 30319, from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28. 

As IABC Chair, Cropley logged more than 200,000 miles and visited 40 chapters, connecting with IABC members and tapping into the pulse of activity within the communications profession.  Using an interactive format at his Atlanta presentation, he will draw on his experience to address:

• How is the role of the communicator evolving?
• Where will communicators fit into the organization of tomorrow, and
  what types of jobs will there be more of (or fewer of) in the future?
• How can members take advantage of IABC’s multi-disciplinary,
  multi-national resources?

Adrian Cropley is founder and principal of Cropley Communication, based in Melbourne, Australia. He has 20 years of professional communications experience in the private and public sectors. Cropley has worked with clients such as Unilever, Ernst & Young, Shell, NAB, ANZ, National Foods, Kraft, Bunning’s, Aus Post, Latrobe, Deakin & Monash Universities and various government organizations. In addition to being immediate Past Chair of IABC International,  Cropley was named IABC Volunteer Chapter Leader of the Year in 2008. He was responsible for significant growth of IABC in the Asia Pacific region. Cropley has spoken across the globe at various conferences and forums and is widely published, with a numbers of articles appearing in global industry magazines.
