DeKalb Schools to Receive Visit from SACS

Oversight agency that holds the power to pull the districts accreditation will come to DeKalb.

An oversight agency is headed back to DeKalb Schools to see where the district is in handling its problems, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Mark Elgart, the president and CEO of AdvancedED, parent agency of the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges, decided Monday an investigation was warranted.

Two years ago SACS came to DeKalb to outline a plan to gainΒ  full accreditation. SACS has the ability to pull accreditation.
