DeKalb County Schools Open Wednesday, A Balmy 26 Degrees Predicted in the A.M.

Vacation is over for Dunwoody students.

DeKalb County schools will be open for students and staff on Wednesday.

“District personnel have been working around the clock to ensure that our busses and schools will be operating at a high level of efficiency, said Superintendent Michael Thurmond, in a statement. "We are encouraging parents and adult guardians to take extra precautions to dress students in a way that will help protect them from the effects of extremely cold weather.”

The National Weather Service forecast says it will be 26 degrees at 7 a.m. Wednesday, with a wind chill making it feel like 24 degrees. It will be mostly sunny, with a high near 42. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph.
