Angela Landis is Chesnut's Teacher of the Year

First grade teacher has been at Chesnut for four years

 

Chesnut Charter Elementary School has announced that Angela Landis, a first grade teacher with the school, has been named the school’s “Teacher of the Year” for 2011-2012.

Currently in her fourth year teaching at Chesnut Charter Elementary, Ms. Landis has taught grades one through four in Dekalb County for almost 13 years. This is her second time receiving the “Teacher of the Year “award in DeKalb County. Ms. Landis has also taught at Stone Mill Elementary and Nancy Creek Elementary schools.  She is a graduate of Oklahoma State University.

Veronica Williams, Assistant Principal of Instruction at Chesnut Charter Elementary, describes Ms. Landis as a dedicated teacher committed to the needs of all of her students.  She adds that Ms. Landis is known for her center based instructional approach to learning, and also serves as a mentor and support leader to other teachers. 

Ms. Landis, who has two children in the fourth grade at Chesnut Charter Elementary, also supports the school as an active parent.
