Is Starbucks Taking Over Dunwoody? It is in Ravinia

Those looking for a familiar jolt of a Vanilla Latte or a Cafe Misto - known everywhere else as a Cafe au Lait - can get their fix within the month at the under-construction Starbucks at Ravinia near Ashford Dunwoody Road.

What's your favorite Starbucks caffeine delivery system? Chai Tea Latte? With ice on a warm day? Or a dark roasted Cafe Au Lait - the old Parisian standby that's perfect for a crisp fall day in the U.S.?

Or do you like the ones with whippped cream on top and so many calories I don't bother to count or learn their names?

OK, now I'm being snooty. And - to boot - I want a premium coffee.

Some good news. Soon you'll be able to get your cup of joe across Ashford Dunwoody Road from Perimeter Mall.

A Starbucks, as you can see in the photos, is going up by the minute. As you read this, they are tarring over the plywood on the frame of the building. Digging out areas for plumbing. You know, all that construction stuff.

Warning, as you can see in the photo the drive through is completely built. Beware though - that plastic wrap that covers it means you can't pick up your order there just yet.

But you will soon. Located across from the mall and in front of the Ravinia office complexes, construction started in the spring, workers said. Despite the look of raw wood finishings, these guys reported the 'Bucks will open this month.

Just in time for a Pumpkin Spice Latte. I mean how would you know it's fall if there was no pumpkin spice coffee? Something to consider.

There's going to be more than just good coffee here. An historic stone chimney has been moved to anchor the outdoor seating area. It's shady, a bit away from busy Ashford Dunwoody Road and it has a cozy feel, despite it being unfinished.

The Starbucks will compete with the well-established Starbucks in Dunwoody Village, and many others scattered aroud town. But the demographics are different it seems; it will likely attract the thousands of workers in the many offices in Ravinia.

Don't fret. Just because this place isn't the old familiar, I'm sure it doesn't mean they won't hook you up with a "tall" Pumpkin Spice Latte (that's 12 oz. in case you didn't know) with some cinnamon sprinkles on top. Viva Fall!
