Patch Will Cover Tonight's County Budget Meeting With Live Blog

Dunwoody Patch will be covering DeKalb CEO Burrell Ellis' budget talk live tonight, starting at 7 p.m.

DeKalb CEO Burrell Ellis has been meeting with various neighborhoods and communities across the county to talk about his proposed 2011 budget, which calls for increasing property taxes by 11 percent.

Tonight, Eillis will meet with DeKalb residents at the Leafmore Creek Park Clubhouse, 1373 Altamont Drive, Decatur, and dunwoody.patch.com will cover it live, starting at 7 pm.

Ellis’ proposed $563 million budget would cut more than 750 county jobs to make up for $50 million in lost real estate and sales taxes.

If adopted, DeKalb residents would see a property tax rate increase of 2.32 mills. For an average DeKalb County home, appraised at $190,000, that would be an increase of $264 a year in property tax bills.
