In District 2, “Clean Sweep Candidate” Jim Riticher won over Heyward Wescott and William Mercier. Ritchier had 52 percent of the vote, Wescott, 41 percent and Mercier, seven percent.

Wescott’s campaign manager, Brent Morris was shocked by the outcome. “It tells me that there is discontent and that Jim Ritichier did a good job of [playing] on that discontent,” he said. “I think the city needs to do a better job of communicating with the citizens.”
