State Rep. Taylor Talks About a Dunwoody School System

The Dunwoody lawmaker was recently interviewed on Star 94.

Heneghan's Dunwoody Blog recently reported that state Rep. Tom Taylor was interviewed on Star 94 about the possibility that Dunwoody could soon create its own school system.

The interview can be heard here.

His proposal would call for an amendment to the state Constitution, he said, and would be voted on during next year's legislative session. If approved, the public would vote on the referendum later in the year.

DeKalb's school system is currently under probation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Does Rep. Tom Taylor have any idea about just how much this new school system will cost the citizens of Dunwoody for start-up and ongoing costs? Is there a reliable study forecasting the success and related costs for such a school system? And, has this gentleman, known for creating new cities, done anything about the existing school system? Is he as involved in the existing school system as he has been involved with the creation of new cities? Where has he been for the past ten years? Anyone want a special hamburger with extra yellow mustard?
