National Park Service Celebrates Veterans Day with Free Park Entry Weekend

Free entry includes the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area's Island Ford location nearby Dunwoody.

Saturday through Monday, the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area and 400 units of the National Park Service in waive entry fees in celebration of Veterans’ Day.

The usual $3 fee will not be collected this weekend at boat ramps, picnic areas, and parking lots in the CRNRA.

“Veterans and their families are always welcome in the national parks,” said CRNRA Superintendent Bill Cox. “This is an expression of appreciation for their service. It’s also a great opportunity for other members of the public to come visit the park.”
