Local Day Care Failed to Meet Standards

An AJC investigation shows the state continues to fund day cares that fail to meet standards

A recent Atlanta Journal-Constitution investigation shows the state gave more than $355 million in subsidies over the past four years to day care centers that failed to meet child-care standards.

A closer look at the database compiled by the AJC shows in Dunwoody is one program that received money from the state after failing health and safety standards.

Located at 5695 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, the center was graded as non-compliant in 2011, but still received $16,658 in state funds.
