Sandy Springs Mayor Eva Galambos retires at the end of December. The Dunwoody proclamation praised her leadership in Sandy Springs' incorporation and her influence on other communities.

Sandy Springs Mayor Eva Galambos was honored by the City of Dunwoody, Monday, with a proclamation that praised her leadership in Sandy Springs' incorporation and her influence on other communities.

The proclamation said in part:

"Upon its incorporation in 2008, the City of Dunwoody looked to the experiences of Sandy Springs and benefited from the vision of Dr. Eva Galambos as is evidenced in our use of the public-private partnership model and an elimination of post-employment obligations through a defined contribution plan rather than a traditional pension plan."

In the proclamation, Dunwoody Mayor Mike Davis thanked Galambos for her contributions to Sandy Springs and Dunwoody.

In her gratitude, the Sandy Springs Mayor said, "Local government that’s closest to the people is the best. I think everybody’s realizing that. So thank you very much for honoring me. I’m very touched."
