Dunwoody's group will be heading out of the Fresh Market parking lot Tuesday morning at around 9:45 a.m. Riders will take Mt. Vernon Rd., with a police escort and head west, eventually connecting with riders from Roswell, East Cobb and Sandy Springs at Roswell Road, according to local organizers.

The ride is 16 miles and will take about 2 hours, organizers said.

The trek is both in support of legislation to encourage safe passing for bicycles and bicycling in general.Β The legislation is called the 3-Feet Safe Passing Bill (HB-100) and requires that at least 3 feet be maintained between bicyclists and vehicles when passing.
