But planned baseball fields will have to find a home someplace other than Brook Run.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly indicated that the council approved an amendment allowing organized sports on Brook Run Park's south lawn. The amendment was subsequently altered and organized sports were taken out.

The Dunwoody City Council voted Monday night to approve a parks master plan that does not include baseball fields at Brook Run Park, according to a report from Heneghan's Dunwoody Blog.

But some Dunwoody residents have lobbied the city to keep the ballfields in the plans for Brook Run.

And the Murphey Candler Little League Board has urged parents to support having athletic fields at the park.

The debate is part of a larger discussion about how much park space in the city should be set aside for sports and other active uses and how much should be preserved as less intensively used green space. The city's website includes details of the master plan for all of Dunwoody’s parks and green spaces.
