Dunwoody Charter Review Commission Holds Initial Meeting

The commission's next meeting is scheduled for May 22.

The members of the Dunwoody Charter Review Commission held their first meeting this week to hash out how the group would operate going forward.

The five-member commission will ultimately recommend charter improvements to members of the state legislature. Their final report is due in October, and the review is required because the city is approaching its five-year anniversary.

During their initial meeting on Monday, the group decided to meet twice a month and will elect a commission chair and commission vice-chair at their next meeting, scheduled for May 22.

The commission members also supported creation of a city email address that could be used for Dunwoody citizens to send suggestions for charter changes, and the meetings will have a public comment time as well, according to a report from Reporter Newspapers.

Commission member Robert Wittenstein, a former City Council member, described the group as "informal."
