Dunwoody Bringing Movies to the Parks This Friday Night

City will show "Mars Needs Moms" Friday at Brook Run Park

Dunwoody's got a new movie theater – at least for one night.

Friday, the city will be showing 'Mars Needs Moms' under the stars at Brook Run Park.

The free event will start at 8:45 p.m. or after dark.

The movie will be shown on a 45 foot outdoor movie screen.

The movie showing is sponsored by the city's Parks and Recreation department, Comcast and the REELZCHANNEL. The two companies, in partnership with XFINITY, are showing movies under the stars around the Atlanta area this summer and fall. Dunwoody is one of ten parks hosting an event.

The city asks moviegoers to leave pets at home, as well as umbrellas and high backed chairs.

There will be pre-movie activities and concessions sold on site. People are encouraged to bring picnic baskets, along with lawn chairs and blankets.
