Dunwoody Bikers Advocate for Better Trails on Ride to Capitol

If you want to push Georgia lawmakers for improved cycling conditions in the state, join Dunwoody bikers on Georgia Rides to the Capitol March 18.

Join Dunwoody elected officials Tuesday on the annual Georgia Rides to the Capitol to push for improved bicycling conditions in the state.

Participants can register on the Dunwoody Start – Georgia Rides to the Capitol Facebook page.

The local riders will leave from Dunwoody Village - Fresh Market, 5515 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, at 9:45 a.m. Police will escort the riders, who will link up with Roswell and East Cobb riders on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.

The ride is 16 miles to the Capitol; there is an option to return to Dunwoody via MARTA.Β 

During the ninth annual bike event, cyclists will raise support for improved conditions for cycling, including the development of regional systems of both on-road bicycling facilities and multi-use-trails.

To be covered for ride insurance, register at no charge at the Georgia Rides website. Donations are accepted and go toward funding statewide cycling advocacy efforts through Georgia Bikes.
