DDI or Construction Zone?

Are you voting up or down? Notice the ongoing construction on Ashford Dunwoody Road and I-285? Ready for it to end?

There's been much made about the Diverging Diamond interchange at Ashford Dunwoody Road and I-285.

Currently, the construction has made way for the interchange to be operational, the pedestrian walkwway is well on its way, but - and people have noticed this - there are a large number of orange barrels around the interchange.

So, there's the orange warning barrells and a handful of construction workers who don't seem to be working on projects. Which begs the question, what gives?

So far, it's an open question. Georgia DOT officials did not return calls immediately Monday about the status of the interchange, and the lack of workers at the construction site.

But we want to know what you readers think? Is the new DDI intersection convenient and safe to navigate - or not? Is the ongoing construction to pedestrian walkways and lane striping a distraction?

And DOT, we'd like to hear your comments hear too. What's the status?

Write us in comments. Do you like the changes overall? Is the construction dragging on too long? Would you dare walk through the new pedestrain walkway in the busy intersection?
