DeKalb County asks residents to throw out household chemicals
County scheduling a free clean up day March 31
DeKalb County is planning a hazardous waste disposal day where residents can dispose for free a number of items that can pile up around the house.
The clean-up day is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon March 31 at the DeKalb County central transfer station at 3720 Leroy Scott Drive near the intersection of Memorial Drive and Kensington Road.
Items that will be accepted, include: aerosols, batteries, adhesives, flammables, fertilizers, pesticides, automotive oils and other solvents, fluorescent bulbs, photo chemicals, hobby and artist supplies, paints and cleaners and swmming pool cleaners.

Household hazardous are products that contain potentially dangerous chemicals and are no longer used. These products should not be mixed with regular trash and can be potentially harmful to the environment if not disposed of properly.
