DeKalb Budget: No Property Tax Hike

Approved $584 million budget does includes new officers, pay increases, and restores budgetary reserve to $47 million.

The recently approved 2014 DeKalb County operating budget includes among other items:

  • No property tax increase in 2014 or 2015.
  • Year end fund balance of $47 million.
  • Three percent raise for all employees in a reserve account for appropriation.
    ($3,300,000 effective July 2014)
  • Funding for 160 new police officers and 100 new firefighters.
