Monday night, work began on the going in at the bridge on Ashford Dunwoody Road over I-285.
Work will continue starting at 9 p.m. Tuesday night, the left southbound lane of Ashford Dunwoody Road will close for night construction to remove street lights from the raised median. On Wednesday, the right lanes of the Ashford Dunwoody Road Bridge, both northbound and southbound, will close for night construction.
Last weekend, the westbound right lane of I-285 at the Ashford Dunwoody Road Bridge was closed for a short time Saturday morning.
The brief lane closure was required to secure the bolt pattern of the existing structures holding up directional signs on the I-285 and Ashford Dunwoody Road Interchange Bridge, according to E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc., which was awarded the $4.6 million construction by the Georgia Department of Transportation to reconfigure the interchange into the innovative DDI design.
