City Launching Program to Get Teens Interested in Local Government

Governmental Explorers program will have its first meeting on May 3

The city of Dunwoody is starting a new program to help get teenagers interested in local government.

The city is launching a Law and Government Explore Post, which encourages members to seek careers within the government arena, according to a city statement on the initiatve. The program is centered around careers in government, civil services, municipal code and law, public works, economic development and social services, among other areas.

The program is focused on not only teaching teenagers about government, but leadership, life skills, character education, service learning and hands-on career activies, according to the press release.Β

Dunwoody will host a recruitment night at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 3 at . Interested teens should attend with their parents.Β
