BYOB: Ordinance Change Would Allow Adults to Bring Own Alcohol to City Parks
The Dunwoody City Council on Monday will discuss a proposed city ordinance that would allow adults, ages 21 and up, to bring and consume alcohol in city parks during city-sponsored special events.
Currently, the city's Code of Ordinances allows for the allows for the sale of alcohol on city property with a permit, but does not allow for the consumption of alcohol not purchased on site from a vendor with a special permit.
The proposed Chapter 25 code amendment would allow adults of legal drinking age to bring their own alcoholic beverages to city-sponsored events, like Food Truck Thursdays.
Additionally, at Tuesday's City Council meeting, the Council will be presented with the year-to-date financial report and an overview of implementation and future development of an economic development program.
The City Council meeting begins at 7 p.m. Monday at City Hall, following the City Council's regular work session in the same location at 6 p.m. View the full agenda here.
