Update: Man Arrested in Brook Run Dog Park had Trouble There Before

Davis Dawson, who was arrested over the weekend for assaulting a DeKalb Police officer, has a history of arguments at the park.

A man that Dunwoody Police arrested Saturday for assualting an off-duty police officer has a history at the dog park.

The man arrested, David Dawson, has had two other "verbal altercations" at the park, say police.

The verbal altercations hadn't led to an arrest, but police were aware of the verbal altercations and had that information documented, said Sgt. Mike Carlson, spokesman for the department.

Dunwoody Police were called to the park Saturday after an off-duty DeKalb Police officer was assualted after trying to break up a third argument involving Dawson, said police.

Before it was over, the officer was pinned to the ground and told police she was about to lose consciousness had she not been rescued.

The incident - like those before - started with some verbal sparring between Dawson and another person.

After the DeKalb officer intervened, Dawson pushed the officer, who tried to arrest him and then the fight escalated.

Dawson pinned the officer to the ground and put his knee in her back, causing her to have a hard time breathing.
