Two Arrested in Murder of Ivan Perez in Dunwoody

Police say it was a case of mistaken identity

Dunwoody Police have arrested a 30-year-old College Park man and a 33-year-old Norcross man in the killing of Ivan Perez.

Police arrested Kevin Stallworth for allegedly shooting Perez outside of his Dunwoody apartment just before 4 p.m. Monday. He was arrested on a charges of Felony Murder. Police also arrested Antiwan Lane out of Norcross, who has been charged with Murder for Hire, also a felony.

Police tracked down Stallworth in Jonesboro.

Perez was shot multiple times outside of his apartment building at The Pointe at Perimeter. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It had been thought that Perez might have known his shooter, as the .

Police now say it was likely a case of mistaken identity.

"Mr. Perez was not the intended target," Sgt. Mike Carlson said in a statement.

Perez's wife said that she thought it was a case of mistaken identity.
