Suspect Wanted for Intimidating Elderly Dunwoody Woman

Police say suspect intimidated 77-year old woman into paying for work that wasn't done.

A Douglasville man is wanted by Dunwoody Police for intimidating a 77-year-old woman into paying $1,500 for work that wasn't done.

Gerald Jerome Davis, 30, is wanted by police in a May case of elderly abuse.

Police say the suspect and some people with him approached a woman at her home and offered to perform yard work for "real cheap," Dunwoody Police say. The work was never done.

When the victim refused to pay, Davis became verbally aggressive, police say. The woman paid wrote him a $1,200 check. She then went to the bank to cancel the check, but it had already been cashed, say police.

When she returned to her house, Davis and his crew were asking for $300 more, according to police. On the woman's second trip to the bank, officials there suspected something because of the transactions, and stepped in after she explained the situation.

Davis has an arrest record for elderly abuse and robbery, police say.
