Still Spots Left in Dunwoody Citizens' Police Academy

The Dunwoody Citizen's Police Academy begins Sept. 3.

The Dunwoody Police Department hosts a Citizen's Police Academy several times a year. The next class begins Sept. 3, 2013. 

The academy is ten weeks long and held on Tuesday nights from 6- 9 p.m.  The academy covers a variety of topics including:  Traffic Enforcement, Gangs, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Detective Division, Patrol, Community Outreach Unit, Crime Scene Unit and Evidence.  Included in the academy is a tour of the Dekalb County Jail and the ChatComm 911 center in Sandy Springs.
