Reminder: Alarm Systems Must be Registered by Oct. 1
Excessive false alarms led Sandy Springs and Dunwoody to pass an ordinance requiring registration of alarm systems.
Residents and businesses within the cities of Dunwoody and Sandy Springs who use a monitored alarm system must register their system by Oct. 1 or risk a $100 penalty.
The cities each contracted with Cry Wolf to implement online registration, and tracking and collection of fees associated with excessive false alarms, a press statement said. Penalties for excessive false alarm calls will range from $50 to $500.
