Police Seek Bank Robber: Police Blotter May 29 - June 4

Bank Robbery

The Bank of America at 1 Perimeter Center E. was robbed Saturday morning, around 11:20 a.m.

According to police, a man walked into the bank wearing a dark colored jacket, a baseball cap and sunglasses and gave the clerk a note saying “You have 30 seconds give me 100’s and 50’s or I’m going to start shooting everybody right now!”

The suspect ran out of the bank through the rear doors with $8,330 in cash.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’11”, 170 lbs in his 20s. He had a mustache in the photo taken during the robbery (photo and wanted poster are in the photos section of this story).

Drug possession

• A 24-year-old Chamblee man was arrested the night of May 29 after police responded to a call at the 6900 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. When police arrived, the man gave a false date of birth and police found marijuana on him.

• Two Dunwoody men, ages, 22 and 23, were arrested last Wednesday night on charges of cocaine possession. Police were on patrol and pulled over the two men. Police said the two suspects had cocaine residue visible on their noses and in their nostrils.

 

Cruel treatment of an animal

A 32-year-old Atlanta woman was cited for cruel treatment of an animal on the afternoon of May 30. According to police, she left her car locked in her vehicle and the temperature inside was more than 100 degrees.

 

Assault

• A 26-year-old Dunwoody woman was arrested Thursday for allegedly assaulting juveniles on the 2900 block of Four Oaks Drive.

• A 19-year-old Fayetteville man was arrested early Friday afternoon after police responded to an assault call on the 100 block of Peachford Circle. The man had a handgun and was arrested on weapons, marijuana sales and reckless conduct charges.

 

Burglary

• A Rolex watch was reported stolen from a residence on the 100 block of Perimeter Loft Circle last Tuesday afternoon. The watch was valued at $11.500.

• Cash in the amount of $7,500 was reported stolen from a residence on the 2200 block of Dunwoody Crossing last Wednesday morning.

• A building on the 4600 block of Peachtree Place Parkway was reported burglarized last Wednesday morning. A doorframe was reported vandalized, but nothing was reported stolen.

• An apartment complex building was reported burglarized Friday morning on the 3900 block of Lake Ridge Lane. Among the items stolen were a Wet Vac vacuum, various tools, a water heater, a box of paper towels, a key machine and air conditioning coils. In total, the stolen items were valued at $4,396. The suspect vehicle was described as a tan, newer model, extended cab truck.

• An Acer laptop computer valued at $600 was reported stolen from a residence on the 4400 block of North Peachtree Road Friday night.

 

Shoplifting

• An iPhone 4 was reported stolen from the Apple store at the Perimeter Mall on Sunday May 29. The phone was valued at $599.

• An 18-year-old Roswell man was arrested on the afternoon of May afternoon on charges of shoplifting for allegedly trying to steal a Nike t-shirt from Dillard’s at Perimeter Mall.

• A 67-year-old Elgin, Ill. man was arrested on the evening of May 30 for allegedly trying to steal two purses/wallets worth a total of $115 from Macy’s at Perimeter Mall.

• A 48-year-old Alpharetta woman was arrested last Tuesday morning for allegedly stealing $99.50 in clothing from Nordstrom’s at Perimeter Mall.

• A 17-year-old Atlanta male was arrested on the afternoon of May 30 for allegedly trying to steal underwear, a t-shirt, a pair of shorts, a pair of shoes and a bag from Target. The items were valued at $68.

• Several books, valued at a total of $116, were reported stolen from Barnes and Noble bookstore, 120 Perimeter Center W., last Tuesday evening.

• Clothing and jeans were reported stolen from Dillard’s at Perimeter Mall last Tuesday night. The total value of the stolen item was $540.

• A 44-year-old Atlanta woman was arrested last Wednesday for allegedly trying to steal $424 worth of Eileen Fischer clothing from Dillard’s at Perimeter Mall.

• A 23-year-old Atlanta man was arrested last Wednesday night for allegedly trying to steal an iPod cover worth $25.46 from Target.

• A 22-year-old Snellville man was arrested Thursday night for allegedly trying to steal 49 CDs and DVDs, a wallet, cell phone, CD player clothing, deodorant and pizza, among other items, from Target.

• A 33-year-old Stone Mountain man was arrested Friday night for allegedly trying to steal $134 in items from Target.

• A 46-year-old Lithonia woman was arrested Saturday evening for allegedly trying to steal a Ralph Lauren scarf valued at $21.99 from Bloomingdale’s at Perimeter Mall.

• A 26-year-old Sandy Springs woman, a 27-year-old Lawrenceville woman and a 26-year-old Covington woman were arrested Saturday night for allegedly trying to steal $603.75 in clothing from Macy’s at Perimeter Mall.

 

Theft

• A Blackberry phone worth $200 was reported stolen from a person at the Perimeter Mall Friday afternoon.

 

Car Theft

• A 1992 Chevrolet Astro Van was reported stolen from the 6700 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard last Tuesday morning. Also inside the stolen van was $2,000 in power and hand tools.

 

Vehicle break-in

• A vehicle was reported broken into last Tuesday afternoon on the 1100 block of Hammond Drive. A brown suitcase, clothes and chargers were reported stolen. The total value of the items was $90.

• A Toshiba laptop, an external hard drive and a laptop bag were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4500 block of Olde Perimeter Way last Tuesday evening. The items were valued at $1,400.

• A Dell laptop and a Blackberry Curve phone, worth a combined $1,000, were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 2000 block of Asbury Square last Wednesday morning.

• An HTC Evo phone worth $600 and $15 cash were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Perimeter Center West Saturday afternoon.
