Police Blotter May 1 - May 7

This blotter is a collected from the daily crime reports posted online and crime news releases from the Dunwoody Police Department.

Burglary

• A burglary was reported at a home on the 4100 block of Dunwoody Club Drive on May 1. Reported stolen were 2 pocket watches, an 18 karat gold necklace, an 18 karat gold bracelet, a pearl necklace, a pearl bracelet and a 3 karat aquamarine ring. The total value of the stolen items was estimated at $9,700.

• A 42-inch flat screen Samsung television, a Nintendo Wii, an HP laptop and a birth certificate were reported stolen from a home on the 2200 block of Dunwoody Crossing on the afternoon of May 4. The total value of the stolen items was estimated at $2,677.

• A $450 Toshiba laptop was reported stolen from a home on the 4600 block of Peachtree Place Parkway on the morning of May 1.

• A burglary and assault was reported on the 8100 block of Ashford Gables Drive on the night of May 2. No arrest was made, according to the initial police report.

• An Apple iPod worth $300 and $25 in cash were reported stolen from an office on the 1000 block of Crown Pointe Parkway.

• A burglary was reported and Chihuahua dog was stolen from a home on the 4800 block of Happy Hollow Road on the afternoon of May 4.

• An Asus tablet PC was reported stolen from a home on the 1800 block of Cotillion Drive early last Friday. The tablet was valued at $399.

• $800 in Victory Knox luggage was reported stolen Saturday morning from a home on the 100 block of Perimeter Center Terrace.

• An attempted burglary and vandalism were reported on the 100 block of Lake Ridge Lane Saturday night.

• A burglary was reported on the 2800 block of Winter Rose Court last Thursday. No items were reported stolen, according to the initial police report.

• Medication was reported stolen from a home on the 5100 block of Vernon Oaks Drive last Thursday afternoon.

• A burglary was reported last Thursday afternoon on the 10100 block of Peachford Circle. Nothing was reported stolen, according to the initial police report.

 

Car break-in

• A Canon EOS 50D and a 600 mm Canon telephoto lens were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4500 block of Olde Perimeter Way last Friday afternoon. The combined value of the camera and lens was estimated at $10,100.

• An Alien Ware laptop, a set of Beats headphones, a textbook and a backpack were reported stolen from the 4500 block of Olde Perimeter Way on the night of May 4. The total estimated value for the items was $3,500.

• Several electronic items including an Apple Macbook, a Dell laptop, a pair of Ted Baker glasses and a checkbook, were reported stolen last Thursday night from a vehicle parked on the 1000 block of Crown Pointe Parkway. In total, the items stolen from the vehicle were valued at $8,512.

• A Lenovo laptop, a pair of Burberry glasses, an Amazon Kindle, a set of Panasonic headphones and other items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4400 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the night of May 4. The total value of the items stolen was estimated at $2,161.

• A Tom Tom GPS worth $400 and $5 in cash were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4600 block of Ellisbury Drive in the early morning hours of May 1.

• A Magellan GPS worth $100 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 2300 block of Haverstraw Court in the early morning of May 1.

• A $1,200 HP Inspiron laptop and a $600 Apple iPhone 4 were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4500 block of East Kings Point Circle on the morning of May 1.

• A vehicle was reported broken into on the 4600 block of Ellisbury Drive on the morning of May 1. An iPod Touch, wallet, Blackberry phone, and cash were reported stolen from the vehicle. The total value of the stolen items was estimated at  $723.

• An Escort radar detector worth $500 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4500 block of Sharon Valley Court on afternoon of May 1.

• A purse, Passport and insurance card were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4500 block of Sharon Valley Court on the afternoon of May 1.

• A vehicle was reported broken into on the morning of May 1 on the 2400 block of Brookhurst Drive. Nothing was reported stolen, according to the initial police report.

• A briefcase, wallet, driver’s license and five credit cards were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4500 block of North Peachtree Road on the afternoon of May 2.

• A vehicle was reported broken into on the 4700 block of Winters Chapel Road on the morning of May 3. Nothing was reported stolen, according to the initial police report.

• An HP computer and two bags, valued at a total of $1,510, were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4500 block of Olde Perimeter Way on the night of May 4.

• A $300 iPod Touch was reported stolen last Thursday night from a vehicle parked on the 4400 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road.

 

Shoplifting

• A 22-year-old College Park woman and a 19-year-old Atlanta man were arrested for allegedly attempting to steal a pair of MEK Denim jeans worth $135 from Dillard’s at the Perimeter Mall.

• A 21-year-old Atlanta man was arrested on the afternoon of May 2 for allegedly trying to steal four Polo baseball hats worth a total of $154 from Dillard’s at the Perimeter Mall.

• A T-Mobile MyTouch phone worth $300 was reported stolen from a store on the 4700 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the evening of May 2.

• A 20-year-old Alpharetta man was arrested on charges of shoplifting for allegedly trying to steal a Guess t-shirt from Dillard’s at Perimeter Mall on the evening of May 4.

• A 25-year-old Alpharetta woman was arrested for allegedly attempting to steal $238 in clothing from Macy’s at the Perimeter Mall.

• A 28-year-old Dunwoody woman was arrested on shoplifting charges at Wal-Mart last Thursday morning. The woman was allegedly trying to steal makeup and a wallet worth a total of $33.

• A 26-year-old Atlanta woman was arrested last Friday evening for allegedly trying to steal $250.46 in clothing from Dillard’s at the Perimeter Mall.

 

Vehicle theft

• A 1994 blue GMC Sierra was reported stolen on the morning of May 2 from the 4600 block of Peachtree Place Parkway.

• A 2010 red Toyota Corolla was reported stolen from Hertz Rental Car, 246 Perimeter Center Parkway on the afternoon of May 2.

• A black Suzuki GSX-R600 K8 motorcycle was reported stolen from the 6000 block of Perimeter Trace last Thursday night.

• A silver 2004 Toyota Celica GT was reported stolen from the 4400 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road in the early hours of Friday.

 

Assault

• An assault was reported on the 200 block of Perimeter Center Parkway around 5 a.m. on May 1. No suspect was found.

• A 40-year-old Dunwoody man was arrested on assault charges on the night of May 2 on the 1400 block of Lake Ridge Lane.

• A 28-year-old Dunwoody man was arrested on assault charges last Thursday at the 6200 block of Charleston Place.

• An assault was reported on the 1700 block of Potomac Road early last Saturday.

 

Vandalism

• A beehive at the Dunwoody Nature Center was reported damaged on the morning of May 1.

• A mailbox was reported vandalized on the 5500 block of Bunky Way on the afternoon of May 3. The mailbox was valued at $450.

• A vehicle was reported vandalized on the afternoon of May 2 on the 100 block of Perimeter Center East.

• A vehicle was reported vandalized on the 200 block of Asbury Commons on the morning of May 3.

• A vehicle was reported vandalized on the 6600 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard last Friday afternoon.

• The back door and back yard fence of a home on the 1400 block of Springside Point were reported vandalized in the early hours of Saturday.

• A front door lock on a home was reported vandalized early Saturday on the 1000 block of Dunbar Drive.

 

Drug possession

• A 22-year-old Atlanta man was arrested on the night of May 2, after the vehicle he was in was pulled over on the 4300 block of North Peachtree Road and he was found to have marijuana and several prescription pills.

 

Trespass

• A 60-year-old Atlanta man was arrested Friday afternoon after allegedly trespassing at Barnes and Noble, 120 Perimeter Center W.
