Police: Bicyclist Hit by Car, Sustains Minor Injuries

Driver cited for failure to yield/stop sign violation

A teenager on a bicycle was struck by a car this morning at the intersection of Mt. Vernon Road and Ashmont Court.

A 15-year-old on a bike was going east bound on Mt. Vernon, trying to cross Ashmont. The driver pulled out in front of the bike, causing the bicyclist to run into the vehicle, police said.

The biker had minor injuries. The driver was cited for stop sign/failure to yield, according to the daily police bulletin.
