Dunwoody police have arrested an East Point man who they believe is responsible for an assault on a hotel manager and who later returned and posed as an officer.

Police announced Wednesday that they arrested Roche Harris, 36, on charges of Impersonation of a Police officer, Simple Battery, Theft by Taking and Loitering and Prowling.

Beginning in December 2013, Harris, visited the Staybridge Hotel located near Perimeter Mall in order to obtain the free continental breakfast, but was not a guest or staying at the hotel.

Hotel staff confronted Harris in December at which time he assaulted the manager by throwing hot water into his face.

In February, Harris returned to the hotel and portrayed himself as a law enforcement officer by displaying a badge.

This past Sunday, Harris returned to the Staybridge and began taking food from the continental breakfast. Hotel staff called 911 and officers arrived on scene and arrested him without incident.

He could have bought a very nice breakfast at McDonald's for what he spent on gas driving to Dunwoody from East Point.
